European Patent Attorney

Cristina graduated The ”Politehnica” University of Bucharest, Faculty of Chemical Technology, Organic Chemistry Technology specialization. She has a PhD in Biotechnology at the Bucharest University, Faculty of Biology. She also graduated the Christian University “Dimitrie Cantemir” of Bucharest, Faculty of  Administrative and Law Sciences, with a BA in Civil Law, Intellectual Property.

She is a Romanian and European patent, trademark and design attorney, working in Patent Department at Rominvent since 2000. She is authorized to work as national and European attorney in patents, trademarks and design fields, before national and international IP authorities as OSIM, EPO, WIPO and EUIPO.

Cristina is a member of the Romanian National Chamber of Industrial Property (CNCPIR), Institute of Professional Representatives before European Patent Office (epi) and European Trademark and Design Attorney (EUIPO), member of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI). She is the national representative for Romania in the Biotech Committee of epi.

Cristina`s area of expertise includes drafting and  prosecution of Romanian, European and international (PCT) patent applications in various technical areas, especially chemistry, pharmacy and biology, as well as patent searches and legal advices, mainly in chemical, pharmaceutical area. She provides clients with patentability opinions, freedom to operate advices, support in patent litigation before National Courts. She is very experienced in the field of chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnological patents, including Supplementary Protection Certificates. She is technical expert in the field of judicial invention patents.

She is fluent in English and has a working knowledge of French and German.

She published articles on topics like SPCs, plant variety protection, patent protection in Romania in prestigious journals from IP area, Managing Intellectual Property, Country Profile Life Sciences, World IP Review, Patent Year Book,  Managing Intellectual Property – International Briefings.
