Oana has a bachelor degree in Chemistry and Accounting and a Masters degree in Chemistry of medicaments and cosmetic products. In 2007, she began working as a trainee in patents for Rominvent SA, and in 2010 she passed the Romanian qualifying examination for patent attorneys. Since 2013, she is also qualified as a design and trademark attorney. She passed the European qualifying examination for professional representatives before the EPO in 2012 and to complete her knowledge in IP she took the CEIPI course in European Patent Litigation in 2015-2016.
At present she is a Romanian and European Patent Attorney. She is involved in many educational activities and also as the Secretary of AIPPI- Romanian Group.
Her current work includes drafting, filing and prosecution of European, PCT and national patent applications in various fields of technology, in particular chemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry and computer implemented inventions; issuing opinions regarding patentability, freedom-to-operate, infringement and validity of intellectual property rights; conducting patent litigation cases in front of national Courts
Oana is also an epi and CEIPI tutor since 2012, actively involved in the preparation of candidates for qualifying as European patent attorneys, tutor for the CEIPI preparatory courses for papers A and B organized by the University of Strasbourg, and a coach for the EQE Candidate Support Project organized by the EPO in collaboration with epi where she is also tutor coordinator.
She is fluent in English and has a working knowledge of French and German.
