Ion Mocanu

Director General

Ion graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Bucharest, having a long activity in the legal field. He has begun his activity in the field of intellectual property in 1993, in the Legal Department of ROMINVENT. Since 2008 he was the director of the Legal, Trademarks and Designs Department, and since 2012 he has been General Manager of ROMINVENT.

Member of the Romanian Chamber of Patent Attorneys (CNCPIR) and former President of ANPPI (International Association for the Protection of Industrial Property – Romanian Group), Ion represents ROMINVENT as a member of some national and international organizations, such as: The Anti-Counterfeiting Group (ACG) in 1997, the International Committee of ACG since 2000, the Counterfeiting Intelligence Bureau (ICC) since 2000, ICC-IP Commission since 2012.

At present, as general manager, he coordinates the specific activities of our company and believes that beyond the natural responsibility for the quality of the services offered to his clients, ROMINVENT has the moral obligation to get involved in the promotion and development of the industrial property domain both in Romania and internationally, paying particular attention to preventing and combating counterfeiting and piracy. This concern was materialized at national level in organizing the Symposium on “Counterfeiting and Piracy in the Field of Intellectual Property”, which has started in 1999 and has become, throughout the annual editions, a notorious event in Romania for the IP specialists.
