Costin graduated the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Bucharest University „Politehnica”, and is specialized in fine mechanics. After his first contact with the industrial property field during years 1995-1996, he activated in another business area, and then, in 2007, he joined the Rominvent team.
He has been a Romanian patent, trademark and design attorney as well as an European Trademark and Design attorney since 2009 and he qualified as an European patent attorney in 2019.
Since 2010, Costin is also a legal technical expert in the fields of patents, trademarks and industrial designs
He is fluent in English and French and has a working knowledge of German.
Costin is a member of the Romanian Chamber of Patent Attorneys (CNCPIR), of the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (epi) and of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI).
In his current work, he deals mainly with drafting, filing and prosecution of Romanian, European and PCT patent applications and also handles the validation of European patents in Romania in his field of expertise. He also performs documentary searches and provides advice on matters such as freedom-to-operate or infringement.
