PATENTS
The counsels of the Patent Department offer the following services:
- general advice regarding the protection of patents or utility models
- drafting of patent or utility model applications (description, claims, drawings)
- filing a patent, utility model application or supplementary protection certificate and management of the
procedures until the protection title is obtained:
- with ROPTO (Romanian State Office for Patents and Trademarks)
- with EPO (European Patent Office)
- with the IB (International Bureau)
- assistance and representation in patent revocation proceedings or contestation to a decision in front of ROPTO:
- assistance and representation in opposition or appeal proceedings in front of EPO
- documentary searches on the state-of-the art with respect to an invention
- legal opinions concerning the fulfilment of patentability requirements
- searches on the holder's patent portofolio
- searches on the equivalents of a patent in other countries
- assessment of the counterfeiting risk
- registration of changes in the juridical status (change of the owner, change of name or owner address)
- managing renewals
The counsels are members of the Romanian National Chamber of Industrial Property Attorneys (CNCPIR), of European Patent Office (EPO) and their expertise covers all technical fields that qualify for an invention patent, from chemistry, pharmacy, medicine, food, engineering, electronics, thecnology to IT.
